Asparagus, cream cheese and prosciutto

Prosciutto-cheese-wrapped asparagus

  • 16 asparagus tips
  • 16 slices of prosciutto
  • 2 oz. cream cheese
  • Dizzy Dust
  • Olive oil
  1. Preheat grill to 350 F.
  2. Rinse asparagus and cut the tails off.
  3. Warm cream cheese with a short trip to the microwave (10 seconds).
  4. Mix cream cheese and Dizzy Dust, or your favourite BBQ seasoning, together, adding as much, or as little, seasoning as you like. I just lightly covered the cream cheese.
  5. Lay a piece of prosciutto flat on a clean, flat surface, such as a cutting board.
  6. Spread a layer of cream cheese on the prosciutto – think of it as a thick layer of butter on a nice piece of bread.
  7. Angle wrap prosciutto around a piece of asparagus. It doesn’t have to start at the head and go all the way to the tail, but rather can take up the middle section.
  8. Repeat until you are out of asparagus and prosciutto.
  9. Lightly brush them with olive oil.
  10. Sprinkle on more seasoning.
  11. Place on grill over direct heat, cooking for 8-10 minutes, turning once or twice. You’re just crisping up the prosciutto and lightly cooking the asparagus.
  12. Remove and serve while warm.
  13. Be prepared to go back into the kitchen to make more!
